MindSkyn Press

Words that take root.

A place to return to yourself.

There are poems that accompany you.
That sit with you in the waiting room,
at the window, in the quiet after everything.

The press

"Some voices have always been there. They simply needed a place to land."

MindSkyn Press was born from a quiet recognition. Emerging poets often carry everything already. The words, the vision, the voice. What they need is a witness. A steady, encouraging presence that holds space for the work and for the person making it.

We exist to fill that gap. To offer emerging and new poets a home for their manuscripts that feels less like a transaction and more like a conversation. One rooted in care, in craft, and in the belief that every voice deserves to be heard on its own terms.

Our model is simple. We walk alongside you through the entire publishing journey, from manuscript to final polished book, and hand you something that is entirely yours. You leave with your book in your hands and a clearer sense of who you are as a writer.

MindSkyn Press is built for impact. For the moment a poet opens their finished book and sees themselves reflected back, renewed.

"A value-driven, presence-oriented space committed to empowering poets through empathy, inclusion, and whole-person transformation. This is about helping poets find their way back to themselves."

The founder
Joy-Jayne Bassey, founder of MindSkyn Press
Joy-Jayne Bassey Founder & Studio Director

Poet. Artist. Publisher.

Joy-Jayne Bassey is a poet and an author who understands what it means to carry something intimate into the world as a finished, holdable thing.

She started MindSkyn Press because she saw what was missing. A place for emerging poets that honored the whole person, not only the manuscript.

Her work as a visual artist and her work as a publisher share the same root. A belief that the most important thing a creative space can offer is room for someone to see themselves clearly.
